AmpliTube iRig through a Jambox demo – a great, compact and portable rig for vacations, business trips and parties, etc.
For quite a while, I’ve had the AmpliTube app on my iPhone, but had rarely used it because I wasn’t a big fan of using ear-phones. Too hard on the ears because I have a tendency (who doesn’t) to play a little louder because there is nothing like the sound of speakers moving air, a lot of air…
Yesterday, it occurred to me that I could just as easily play through the Jambox I use for my laptop, and here you see and hear the results. I guess it hadn’t occurred to me because at home I play through my Vox Heritage amp, and on the road, headphones, although disagreeably.

The app comes with, or has available for separate purchase, most any kind of pedal and amp you would want to try, and they are relatively inexpensive to add..a few bucks each.
Hope you enjoyed it.

Nice Demo Richard. I’m working out bush at the moment and luggage space is at a premium. I’ve kitted out with my son’s 1/2 sized electric and one of these devices. I’m using the ear plugs so not to upset the neighbours and its working out pretty well. (although I agree you can’t beat the surround sound so to speak.)
Cool that you are able to play in such dramatic circumstances. What is the 1/2 size guitar? I’d like to check it out.
I have that ipod ampltiube joint…very nice
Cool. Do you get much use out of it? Until recently, I hadn’t bothered trying it out more than a couple of times. Basically had it for taking trips, but realized it has a solid variety of sounds, particularly, if I add more pedals and amps.
Either way, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment.
its no problem…I used it just a couple of time as when i had went to a Music Conference in NYC, it was being displayed and I bought it afterwards. seems solid though. I am always jogging around the blogging community waving Hi’s to everyone.
hi there! could you play via bluetooth with the jambox? or you have to connect jambox and irig using a cable? thanks! by the way, nice playing! SRV rules! sorry my bad English…
I believe you can, although I haven’t tried. The bluetooth has a bit of a delay, so I don’t think it would be optimal, but it would work.
