Guitar Licks and Tabs – 2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Snark Guitar tuner – Less than $10 http://goo.gl/JdQVY

Here’s an excerpt:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 45,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 10 Film Festivals

Thank you, one and all, for your support since starting this blog in January of 2012!

When combined with the GuitarLicksAndTabs YouTube channel, which now has 180 subscribers, and 104,000 views, we have a combined total of:

150,000 views and over 900 followers/subscribers!

When I started this blog to help recover, and to help people learn classic licks/solos and songs, I had no idea what to expect.

Again, your support has been greatly appreciated! This has been fun.

I look forward to an exciting 2013, and hope that your New Year is everything you wish it to be!

Best,
Richard

Marshall Tucker Band – Ramblin’ – basic guitar chord progression

Snark Guitar tuner – Less than $10 http://goo.gl/JdQVY

Learn how to play the Marshall Tucker Band’s “Ramblin’” main guitar chord progression. If you take the time to hand-write out the full song tablature, you will more quickly learn how to figure out songs on your own. That will help you for all the songs for which you cannot find the tab you want, or you find it and you know it doesn’t sound right.

As always, please feel free to ask any questions. Don’t be shy. Music isn’t a competition, it’s about community, support and sharing.

If you enjoyed this and found it to be useful, awesome. Please “Like” it and share it. Thank you!

The Rolling Stones – Brown Sugar – main riff

Snark Guitar tuner – Less than $10 http://goo.gl/JdQVY

Learn how to play “Brown Sugar” by The Rolling Stones with a video demonstration and guitar chord-sheet for instructional purposes.

This song is fairly simple, and shouldn’t require full guitar tablature to figure out. In fact, the more you take these main-riffs and licks, and work on them to assemble the songs, the more quickly you will be able to figure out most songs without assistance. I hope to assist in your efforts, not actually take the place of your independent efforts to listen to and figure out songs.
